There are officially 193 sovereign states that comprise the United Nations. That’s a lot of national capitals to try and keep straight. The organization was not always as large as it is today. The original members included most the countries in North and South America, most of the Middle East, and parts of Europe. The world map has changed a lot since the 1940s when the organization was first conceived, and newly independent countries have since joined.Note: The capital of Israel is currently in dispute. Wikipedia identifies it as Jerusalem, and for that reason, our quiz does as well.
