Russia is by far the largest country in the world in terms of area. It is so large, in fact, that it comprises almost 11 percent of the world’s landmass. Russia’s east-west expanse is far-reaching that it is technically the largest country in Europe and in Asia. Not far behind Russia in terms of land area is Antarctica, which has no indigenous humans and is almost completely covered in ice.
