When visiting the West, be prepared to travel long distances. In terms of territory, it is the largest of the four regions in the United States. It includes nine out of the ten largest states by territory, such as Alaska (the largest) and California (the third largest). Interestingly, it also includes Wyoming, the least populated state, as well as many of the most iconic national parks and scenes of nature in the country.
