Florida is home to many of the fastest growing cities in the United States. Over a few decades, places like Tampa and Orlando have gone from small, relatively unknown cities to having populations over 1.5 million. Jacksonville, though not the largest city in terms of population, is the largest city by territory in the United States. Most of the metro area, however, is sparsely populated.
